New Educational Leader Allowance

New Educational Leader Allowance Payable from 1 November 2022

On 31 August 2022 the Fair Work Commission formally decided to insert a new Educational Leader Allowance into the Children’s Services Award, effective 1 November 2022.

From this date, an annual allowance of $4022.05 will be payable to all Educational Leaders, remembering that each Service is required to have an Educational Leader under National Regulation 118.

Where a permanent employee is working on a part-time basis as Educational Leader (for example, where they stand-in as Educational Leader for an interim period) they will receive an estimated allowance of $15.47 daily for each day they work as Educational Leader.

Services should begin planning for this additional cost, if they haven’t already, and consider the impact on fees charged to families.
