January 26th, is not a day of celebration for many First Nations Peoples it is a day of great sadness and mourning. Network of Community Activities stands alongside our First Nations Peoples today and always. We recognise and celebrate the strength, resilience of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
We pay our respect to Traditional Custodians of the land in which we work, the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation an pay our respects to the Elders past, present, and future.
Network acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the original custodians of this land. Network is deeply committed to our First Nation people and we stand with you honouring your ongoing resistance and survival.
We encourage all our members to read or revisit the Uluru Statement from the Heart.
It is the most generous statement you could ever read about how we can be together as a country. Let all show our generosity on January 26th and in the future by pausing and reflecting and committing to a more inclusive Australia where history and culture is recognised. As Educators we can all contribute to this in our ongoing work with children and communities!
Check out this listing of Survival Day events around the country on January 26. Join with others by pausing and reflecting on this day.
