One of the biggest challenges Network often hears from OOSH Practitioners is understanding the planning cycle in an OOSH context.
This is the process of observation, planning and evaluation used by OOSH educators to assist in developing quality programs. The five steps of the planning cycle are:
Observe – the process of gathering information.
Analyse – questioning what is taking place to make meaning of what has been observed.
Plan – planning the next steps to continue supporting children’s individual development and creating a age appropriate program.
Act/Do – putting the plan into action.
Reflect – evaluating the effectiveness of the plan.
We all know the theory: children develop and participate best when their environment is tailored to their individual needs, supported through careful observation, informed observation and dynamic planning.
But putting that into practice can be a significant challenge for Educators. So if you or any of your Educators need to strengthen your knowledge in this important area and save time to better support children. Join this session – places still available!
We will give you the practical tools and strategies to make it work in your service
