This is vital for children to be themselves. As Educators we need to think about what we can practically do to support all children to thrive. This informative session is essential for all educators wanting to get a better understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorders. Children diagnosed as autistic, are always unique, totally interesting and sometimes mysterious!

About the Facilitator

Lee is a Consultant Senior Clinical and Developmental Psychologist. He has specialised in the assessment and treatment of children, adolescents and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders and developmental disorders for over 26 years. He has reviewed approximately 2300 clients and their families over this time.

Lee has completed a doctorate in Clinical Psychology and he has worked in private practice for 18 years with a focus on ASD and developmental disorders in children and adolescents. Lee lectures widely across Australia and conducts regular educational seminars for families and professionals, specialising in the provision of diagnosis, assessment and practical behavioural interventions.

Lee will be presenting on the challenges of working with children on the autism spectrum in a before and after school care environment and associated case examples and practical strategies. More specifically, strategies will focus on behavioural supports, anxiety management, social skills building and engaging and working with the family.
