Professional Development Terms and Conditions

When registering for Network’s professional development programs you are agreeing to follow our terms and conditions.

Refunds

Full refunds will only be issued if cancellations are received at least 4 FULL working days prior to the course date. For example, if the event is on a Friday then to receive a full refund you must cancel your place the Friday before and NO later. If you cancel your place 4 full working days or less before the course begins then NO refund will be available. You may substitute your place for another staff member, from the same service, up to 4 working days before the course commences. Network makes every attempt to ensure that professional development events proceed, however we reserve the right to cancel or alter arrangements. If an event is cancelled or changed, we will advise everyone registered and fully paid using the email address they provided when registering, as soon as possible.

Booking Information

All courses must be registered online and paid online at time of booking using a credit card. Invoices can be issued and will incur a $5 administration fee.

Please note the following conditions of bookings:

  • We advise you to book early to avoid disappointment.
Places are allocated in order of receipt of completed registration and payment.
  • No places are confirmed until payment is received. We are happy to take telephone enquiries regarding places, but no confirmation will be given until payment has been made.
  • Places are transferable to another staff member at the same service up to four (4) days before the event date. Confirmation of bookings will be emailed shortly after registration is complete.
  • Network’s professional development events offer a mix of learning styles including lectures, group work, interactive discussions, games and activities. We ask that participants come prepared to participate fully in all activities, including wearing appropriate clothing and footwear for the type of training undertaken.
  • We generally limit enrolments to 3 people from the same service for equity reasons. Additional people from the same service wishing to enrol will be placed on a waiting list and the service will be advised closer to the event date if vacancies remain for them to attend.

Participant Code of Conduct

We ask that all participants abide by the following guidelines:

  • For face to face training please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to the session commencing. Late participants may not be allowed to join if the session is already underway.
  • Webinar participants should log in to the session 15 minutes before the designated start time to allow time to check technical requirements such as audio and webcam. It is necessary to ensure you use a device which has a working camera and audio.
  • It is expected that participants will attend the whole session. Leaving before the scheduled end of session will result in the participant not receiving their certificate of attendance.
  • Please listen carefully to the health and safety instructions of the facilitator, as in the case of an emergency, they are responsible for the safety of the whole group.
  • We ask that all mobile phones be switched off during sessions. If there is a situation where it needs to be on, please switch it too silent and inform your presenter. If a call needs to be taken please leave the training room to talk.
  • Please take the time to complete the evaluation form at the end of the session. This is a valuable tool so Network can gauge the effectiveness of the session and continuously improve our professional development programs

Training Fees

Network is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the promotion of OOSH and vacation care services. All monies raised by professional development events are used to develop and facilitate additional events.  Please refer to the event description for full details and individual event prices. (Members receive a discounted price.) Participants enrolled in our full qualifications do not need to pay additional fees to enrol in Network-run accredited units that form part of their qualification, provided that their qualification fees are paid in full and/or payment plan is up to date. All fees are used to support Networks ongoing advocacy, information & education services.

Re-issue fee for Statement of Attainment and other credentials is $50. This can be paid via credit card over the phone or by invoice. Invoices incur a $5 administration fee.

Webinars

Webinar registrations are for the person who registered ONLY. A working microphone and webcam are compulsory. Webinar links are not to be shared otherwise your place in the webinar will be jeopardised and no refund will be available. It is inappropriate and fraudulent to enrol one staff member and allow others to join the webinar training session. To limit this everyone enrolling, in a webinar event, must use a device with working audio and webcam and have them on at all times.

Network asks for your honesty when enrolling staff and if you wish your team to join then please contact learning@networkofcommunityactivities.org.au to arrange.

In-Service Training
Network’s professional development program addresses emerging sector issues, quality care issues and promotes best practice that is sustainable for all involved in OOSH – children, staff, committees, family, and community.

All sessions on offer will assist Educators and services towards meeting the Quality Areas in the National Quality Framework and contribute to your services’ successful implementation of the Regulations, Quality Standards and My Time, Our Place Framework for School Age Care.

Events are conducted in metropolitan, regional and rural locations across NSW and ACT. We make every effort to cover as much geographical area as possible. In response to the sector’s development needs Network may schedule half day, evening, webinars and full day sessions.

Network also offers webinar training sessions allowing rural and remote services to access training as well as others who are unable to travel to sessions or those who simply want a short overview of a topic, with the opportunity to discuss ideas with OOSH colleagues from all over NSW.

Privacy
Network adheres to a strict privacy policy. Network is committed to protecting the privacy of your personal information. We only share your information under legislative obligations and then it is de-identified. For example, as an RTO we must report to the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) and to our RTO regulatory body Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) as legislated. We also must report certain information, again de-identified, if you attend any funded event as part of the funding acquittal process. For more information visit the regulatory website here https://www.asqa.gov.au/

Statement of Attainment:
Network, as a registered training organisation, will issue your statement of attainment once you have completed all necessary assessments satisfactorily. Network has 30 days after your assessment is marked competent to issue your statement of attainment. Your statement will be emailed to the email address supplied on your enrolment form. Network takes no responsibility if the email address supplied is incorrect, changes (and the student hasn’t notified Network) or email isn’t received or retained by the student.

The cost to re-issue or email a copy of a statement of attainment incurs a $50 administration fee payable before the copy is issued.

Unique Student Identifier USI:

A USI – Unique Student Identifier is your individual education identifier for life. It also creates an online record of your training attainments in Australia. You can access all your statements of attainment on this website.

You must supply your USI, or if you don’t have one register with www.usi.gov.au to obtain one, before you can register and complete any accredited training. This applies to undertaking single units of competency, skill sets and full qualifications.

If you have a USI, you can now give permission to third parties such as licensing bodies, registered training organisations or potential employers to view your authenticated USI transcript. You control whether or not to give this access, to whom and for how long. You can also choose which of your achievements are displayed.

The National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) regularly conducts surveys of students who undertake accredited training to collect information on students’ reasons for and satisfaction with training, their employment outcomes and further study outcomes. By undertaking accredited training with Network you may be contacted by either of these bodies.
