Gillian White is the Deputy Secretary, Early Childhood Outcomes in the NSW Department of Education.
The Early Childhood Outcomes division is responsible for transforming the NSW Early Childhood sector through an ambitious 10-year reform program to ensure all children get the best start in life.
Gill is passionate about quality transitions and relationships for children and young people between early childhood education (ECEC), school and Out of School Hours Care (OSHC). She is committed to engaging widely with the sector and the broader community to ensure that diverse voices are celebrated throughout the work of the division and in ECEC services across NSW.
With a clear focus on engaging with the sector, across the community and government, Gillian leads the division and collaborates with other Government agencies to adopt a whole-of-child approach, and build and support an ECEC sector that is affordable and accessible for all.
Gillian started her career in the legal profession before commencing work in the public sector. She has worked in several state and federal departments, leading across social policy, economic and intergovernmental areas.
