EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHER — DIPLOMA QUALIFIED OSHC & Preschool Program | Newtown | Part-Time | Immediate Start
About Us
We are a warm and well-established Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) service based within an infants school in Newtown. A preschool operates on site, and its children attend our before school care, after school care and vacation care programs.
About the Role
We are seeking a Diploma-qualified Early Childhood Teacher to join our dedicated team in a role that offers preschool programming within an OSHC setting.
This part-time position offers flexibility, with 3–5 days per week available (negotiable), including dedicated administration time, a split shift allowance, vacation care hours, and opportunities for additional work when required.
You will work closely with our existing Early Childhood Teacher to design and deliver a high-quality preschool program for children aged 3–5 years attending our afternoon OSHC program.
This is an excellent opportunity for an educator who values building strong relationships with children, families and colleagues and enjoys working in a supportive and community-focused environment.
Position Details
- Shift times: 7:00–9:00am and 2:45–6:00pm
- Administration time: Flexible and negotiable
- Days: Monday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Friday (negotiable)
- Pay: Above award rate plus split shift allowance
Responsibilities Include
- Working alongside our ECT to plan, implement, document, evaluate and deliver an engaging preschool program at OSHC for children aged 3–5
- Taking a lead role in the afternoon program for preschool-aged children
- Developing warm, meaningful connections with children that support their growth and wellbeing
- Contributing to a safe, stimulating and compliant service environment
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with families and colleagues
What You’ll Need
- Diploma qualification in Early Childhood Education
- Valid Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Current Asthma and Anaphylaxis training
- Sound understanding of the National Quality Framework and Education and Care National Regulations
- Completion of CHCPRT025 (or equivalent) – Identifying and Responding to Children and Young People at Risk
- Geccko Child Safe Training
