Centre Director

About Us:
Cherrybrook OOSH Care is a not-for-profit organisation run by a parent management committee. We are a community focused OOSH servicing Cherrybrook Public School. We are currently recruiting for a Centre Director to lead the service, create long-lasting connections with our local community, build relationships with families, and create a welcoming and nurturing environment for our school aged children.

Our operating hours are:
Before School Care: 7.00am – 9.00am
After school Care: 3.00pm – 6.30pm
Vacation Care: 7.00am – 6.30pm

Currently licenced to 190 children

We offer above the Children Services Award pay rate for the right candidate, negotiable based on experience. Additionally, we are committed to investing in any necessary training for professional development.

Qualifications:

  • A Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or An ACECQA-approved equivalent qualification

Other requirements:

    • Minimum of 5 years working in the children services industry
    • Current Working with Children’s Check
    • Proven experience in a similar management or leadership role
    • Demonstrated ability to achieve targets and meet safety and compliance standards
    • Current First Aid and Anaphylaxis certification (or willingness to obtain)
    • Child protection
    • Acceptance of Nominated Supervisor and Director titles
    • Police Check
    • Ability to work in the service a minimum of 4 afternoons a week (flexible days)
    • Friendly, strong, vibrant personality with attention to detail and the ability to think outside the box
    • Demonstrated experience in increasing occupancy using lateral solutions
    • Knowledge of the Quality Areas, regulations & standards
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Genuine passion for the well-being and development of children

Position Summary:

    • Reports to the Parent management committee.
    • Works alongside the current administrator to meet centre financial targets.
    • Manages the day-to-day operations of the Centre in line with company policies and procedures.
    • Mentors and supports the centre to Meet/Exceed the National Quality Standards.
    • Ensures the service is compliant with laws, regulations, and other relevant legislation.
    • Creates long-lasting connections with the local community including partnerships with families and children.
    • Utilises marketing skills to strategically increase service enrolments.
    • Manages staff, including training and supervision.
    • Updates and implements the QIP and service philosophy.
    • Takes on all responsibilities of the nominated supervisor and director.
    • Ensures service workplace health and safety standards.
    • Reviews and adheres  to the service’s policies and procedures.
    • Supports the Educational Leader in providing stimulating and engaging programs for the children interests and needs.
