Afternoon Co-Ordinator | DBOOSH

We are a community run OOSH –
operating out of Double Bay Public School.

We run a before school program  (45 children) 7am – 9am  and
after school program (80 children) 3pm – 6:30pm along with
holiday care (45 children) 8:30am – 5:30pm.

We are looking for a new coordinator to run our after school program. 

We are looking for candidates that want to make their mark on the centre and provide a positive impact to the children, school and local community.  

Our approach and service philosophy is underpinned by the “My Timer our Place” Framework.

The role of afternoon coordinator is to effectively collaborate with the morning coordinator and manage the service as a whole.

Afternoon Co-Ordinator
Permanent Part-time.
$45 per hour + Super

Shifts 2:00pm – 7:00pm
5hrs a day – 25hrs a week school term
Vacation care 12:00pm – 6:00pm Monday to Friday
6hrs a day – 30hrs a week vacation care
Centre closed 22nd of December and reopens on
15th of January (3 weeks break)

Our ideal candidates will have the following experience:

  • Specific OOSH industry experience or come from a full time position and looking to reduce hours load while still maintaining a high hourly rate and full-time employee benefits
  • Have children of your own and are considering a career change
  • Come from a coaching and or sporting club background and familiar with engaging children of similar ages along with working cohesively and supporting of young adult educators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effectively lead and develop a dynamic and well established team of (educators 18yo – 26yo)
  •  Providing opportunities to grow the current knowledge and skills of the team
  • Able to collaborate with others and in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and active workspace
  • Has experience in working alongside children, families and key stakeholders
  • In charge of providing a safe, supportive and engaging environment for all who utilise the service
  • Possess the ability to work independently when required, remaining task focused, organised and  system oriented

Working towards, Currently Holds and or willingness to obtain

  • CHCPRT001 – Identify and respond to children and young people at risk (Accredited Child Protection Course)
  • HLTAID012 – Provide Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting
  • Diploma in Children’s Services or School Aged, Education and Care Setting or Child Care Certificate IV in Outside of School Hours Care or equivalent.
  • WWCC
  • Police Check
  • Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate
