The Australian Government Child Care Flexibility Trials to provide families with access to more flexible child care options that reflect the changing dynamics of the Australian workforce and modern families are about to being in OSHC!
The trial feature OSHC service providers from across Australia will participating in action based research projects, designed to build capacity of their educators and improve the responsiveness of the sector as a whole.
In addition, 12 Community Coordinators will be employed in identified communities to facilitate the availability of out of school hours care and provide a mentoring role to service providers engaged in action research projects.
There will be an Independent evaluation undertaken by the Australian Institute of Family Studies of the project which will be run over 12 months.
This trial represents the Australian Government’s partnership with the National Outside School Hours Services Association (NOSHSA) and seeks to improve access to out of school hours care and to help build a sustainable and responsive OSHC sector.
Network of Community Activities will be managing the project on behalf of NOSHSA and working with our state and territory OSHC peaks including our key partners QCAN, Queensland and Community Child Care, Victoria.
